Course of Formation:
Foundational Musicianship • Development of aural acuity and tonal memory • Solfège and interval recognition as tools for precision and freedom • Rhythmic integrity and internal pulse • Sight-singing as a discipline of both mind and ear • Connecting what is heard, seen, and sung with clarity and confidence
Music Theory • Scales, key signatures, and tonal systems • Chord construction and harmonic progression • Form and structural analysis • Notation and written application • Theory as the framework that supports freedom in expression
Voice • Classical vocal technique rooted in breath, support, and resonance • Tone production aligned with clarity, strength, and longevity • Diction and language development (including IPA foundations) • Interpretation and delivery of text with purpose and understanding • Voice as both instrument and vessel—developing sound with intention
Piano • Keyboard fluency and foundational technique • Chord structures, inversions, and harmonic understanding • Accompaniment skills for vocalists and ministers • Developing independence and musical leadership at the instrument • Piano as a tool for both study and ministry
Composition & Songwriting • Melodic and harmonic development • Lyric writing with clarity, intention, and message • Arranging for voice, ensemble, and instrumentation • Introduction to scoring for various styles and settings • Cultivating original sound and creative voice
